PM Modi to inaugurate Maa Kamakhya corridor and Rs 11,000 crore projects in Assam

Guwahati, Feb 2: In a significant development for Assam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch projects exceeding Rs 11,000 crore, including laying the foundation stone for the Maa Kamakhya corridor in the Nilachal Hills of Guwahati City. The main aim behind this initiative is to boost tourism in the state..

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated on Friday that PM Modi will be in Assam for a two-day affair, starting February 3. The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for various development projects, and he will also inaugurate those projects worth 11,000 crores.

Briefing the press, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also said that “PM Narendra Modi will reach Guwahati on February 3 to hold a special meet with the BJP state core committee, and on February 4, the Indian prime minister will also address a mega rally at Khanapara in Guwahati.

Among all the developmental projects to be launched, PM Modi laying the foundation stone for the Maa Kamakhya corridor will attract the attention of devotees all across the country, not just statewide. After project completion, this corridor will provide a boost for the tourism industry in Assam. Once completed, the Maa Kamakhya corridor will also provide ease of access to the divyang and elderly pilgrims,” Himanta added.

Talking about other sports projects, CM Himanta Biswa said the Nehru Stadium of Guwahati will be developed as the biggest sports complex in Eastern India to host FIFA matches in the near future. The incumbent Assam CM also said that a multiple sports complex is also coming up in Chandrapur, which will also be hosting National Games matches in the region.

Showing positive concern for the Gauhati Medical College Hospital, CM Himanta said that the decades-old medical college will become the biggest medical complex in Eastern India as PM Modi will be laying the foundation for several developmental projects on the hospital campus.

Speaking on the scheduled rally of the BJP on the fourth day of February, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said that along with party workers coming in from different nooks and corners of the state, there are also plans to bring the 5000 Lakhpati Baidos during PM Modi’s programme at Khanapara, which will also be the major attraction of the rally.
