SHILLONG, Oct 15: A pre-feasibility study is scheduled to be conducted for the new greenfield project on October 27-28.
This was informed to the division bench of the Meghalaya High Court during a hearing on a PIL here on Friday.
In its order, the court said it was submitted that a pre-feasibility study is scheduled to be conducted on October 27-28.
“Since the matter was directed to appear today only to ascertain that the preliminary exercise had been conducted for the new greenfield project, let this matter appear four weeks hence,” it said.
The order also said that the Airport Authority of India (AAI) pointed out that some initial payment has to be made by the State.
The State informed that a sum of Rs. 23.60 lakh has already been paid and that other initial expenses for the pre-feasibility study will be taken care of by the State without any impediment.
The court also directed the State to make every endeavour to ensure, as directed earlier, that there is no encroachment in and around the area.
“For such purpose, again as directed earlier, aerial or drone photographs should immediately be commissioned so that false claims that are likely to come up may be dealt with appropriately,” it said.
The next hearing will be held on November 11.
