Guwahati, April 12: In his election campaign speech in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi heralded a shift in the region’s political landscape. He emphasized that for the first time in decades, traditional election issues like terrorism, separatism, stone pelting, strikes, and cross-border firing have taken a backseat.
Instead, the focus has shifted towards ensuring the safety of revered pilgrimage sites such as the Mata Vaishno Devi Yatra and the Amarnath Yatra.
PM Modi underlined the positive transformation occurring in Jammu and Kashmir, citing increased development and a growing sense of confidence among its residents. He noted that the concerns surrounding the safety of pilgrimages have been addressed, reflecting a marked improvement in the overall situation.
As a result of these changes, PM Modi asserted that there is widespread support for his government across every corner of Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that the echo resonating throughout the region is one of endorsement for the Modi government, signalling a renewed mandate in the upcoming elections.
