Shillong, Jun 26: A petition filed by Shillong Lok Sabha bypoll candidate Batskhem Myrboh against North Eastern Hill University will be taken up next month, with the Meghalaya High Court deferring the hearing to July 10.
Justice HS Thangkhiew passed the order on Friday (June 26) after counsel for the university informed the court of developments in a related Executive Council meeting.

E Blah, appearing for the respondents, submitted that the Executive Council had met on June 25, 2026, but the meeting was postponed to July 7, 2026.
Noting the submission, the court directed, “Accordingly, list this matter on 10th July, 2026.”
Petitioner Batskhem Myrboh was represented by advocate HR Nath.
Myrboh is contesting the upcoming Shillong parliamentary by-election on a Voice of the People Party ticket.
