Tura, Oct 9: The Reliance Foundation Youth Sports organised an Inter-School Football Tournament in collaboration with the Meghalaya Football Association at the GBHSS Football Turf, Tura, since October 7, with many schools from Tura participating in this tournament.

There are two categories, U-15 and U-19 of both boys and girls, and a total of nine schools have participated in this tournament: St. Xavier’s School, Tura; Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Tura; Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Tura; Monfort Centre of Education,Tura; Sherwood School, Tura; Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura; Christian Boys School, Tura; Monfort Dilne, Gambegre and St. Johns School, Chibagre.

In the the U-19 category, there are only girls from St. Xavier’s School, Tura; Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Tura; Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura; Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Tura and St. Johns School, Chibagre.

In the U-15 girls category, there are teams from Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Tura; Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura; St. Xavier’s School, Tura; Sherwood School, Tura; Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Tura and Monfort Dilne, Gambegre.

And in the U-15 boys category, there are teams from Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Tura; St. Xavier’s School, Tura; Christian Boys School, Tura; Monfort Dilne, Gambegre; St. Johns School, Chibagre; Monfort Center of Education, Tura; Sherwood School, Tura; and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Tura.

Today’s last match was an effort in the U-15 girls category between St. Xavier’s School, Tura, and Sherwood School, Tura. Both teams showed great enthusiasm and tremendous effort, but eventually the St. Xavier’s School Tura team won the match by scoring two goals against the Sherwood School Tura girls team who were unable to score a single point in the match.
