Shillong, Oct 31: The Byatikram Group, in association with The Times of India and Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban, is set to host the second edition of “Remembering the Maestro – SD Burman”, a grand musical tribute to the legendary composer Sachin Dev Burman.
The event will be held on November 9, at the U Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong, Meghalaya.
The event will feature a chorus performance by 69 artists, celebrating Burman’s remarkable contribution to Indian music.

Meghalaya Governor Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar, will grace the occasion, along with distinguished guests including Lou Majaw, Manisha Hazarika, and Naba Bhattacharjee.
The “SD Burman Memorial Byatikram Lifetime Achievement Award 2025” will be conferred upon eminent musician Rudy Wallang, a renowned blues-rock guitarist, vocalist, and composer.
The event will also feature soulful renditions of SD Burman’s evergreen compositions, performed by a stellar lineup of artists, including Jayati Bhattacharjee, Chandrima Bhattacharjee, and Urmimala Choudhury.
Dr. Saumen Bharatiya, Patron-in-Chief, Byatikram Group, said, “This initiative is our humble tribute to the legendary S.D. Burman, whose music transcends generations and continues to inspire countless artists.”

Pankaj Deb, President, Rabindranath Tagore Club, Laban, expressed his heartfelt emotions, saying, “S.D. Burman’s connection with the Northeast runs deep, and Shillong truly reflects his spirit and artistic roots.”
The event is dedicated to the legendary Zubeen Garg and is open to all.
