Shillong, Oct 14: The Hid Foundation, Shillong, has initiated discussions with the State Bank of India (SBI), Nongpoh Branch, to collaborate on human and rural development programmes across Meghalaya.

In a consultation meeting held at the Hid Foundation’s Nongpoh Unit office in Ri-Bhoi district, both parties explored key areas of partnership, including financial inclusion, microfinance support for rural entrepreneurs, agricultural development schemes such as crop loans and farm equipment financing, and joint community development projects in education, healthcare and infrastructure.

The meeting was attended by Shri Nikhil Singh, Chief Manager of SBI Nongpoh Branch and Jinysha D. Maiong, CEO of the Hid Foundation, along with the foundation’s founding chairman and staff members.
The foundation emphasised that a collaboration with SBI could significantly improve access to financial services and development opportunities for rural communities in the state.
