Shillong, Jul 17: Cabinet Minister Sanbor Shullai on Friday paid floral tribute to freedom fighter U Tirot Sing Syiem at the Warriors Memorial Garden, Kench’s Trace, Raid Laban, to mark the 191st death anniversary.
The tribute ceremony was organized by the Raid Laban Sports, Social and Cultural Organization. It began with prayers, followed by floral offerings at the bust of U Tirot Sing Syiem.
As part of the observance, traditional food and refreshments were distributed to those present.

The organization also handed out food and snack packets to children, men and women from underprivileged families in the 19 South Shillong constituency.
Shullai, who is also President of the organization, recalled the contribution of U Tirot Sing Syiem to the state’s freedom struggle.
He urged people to remember the sacrifices of early leaders and to work toward preserving the history and culture of Meghalaya for future generations.
