Shillong, Nov 11: The State Project Director, SEMAM-SSA, Jagdish Chelani, last week released the SPARK Student Handbook and the first edition of the programme newsletter Inside ARK at St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong.

The launch marks a key milestone for SPARK (School Programmes in Articulation, Resilience and Kindness), an initiative of the Department of Education aimed at enhancing life skills, communication, and emotional wellbeing among students.

The event also marked the completion of Phase 2 of SPARK 2025, which was implemented across 11 campuses in six districts, reaching over 2,000 students in government and government-aided schools.

Education officials, teachers, and students shared reflections on how the programme has helped create more supportive and confident classroom environments.

SPARK will continue to expand under SEMAM-SSA as the state strengthens its focus on holistic student development.
