Recognition underscores state’s strides in ease of doing business and digital governance
Shillong, Nov 11: Meghalaya has been recognised as a Top Performer in the Business Entry Reform category at the prestigious Conference of Industries & Commerce Ministers – Udyog Samagam 2025 held in New Delhi.
The award highlights the state’s remarkable progress in simplifying and digitising business entry processes under the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP). Meghalaya’s initiatives have significantly eased compliance requirements, streamlined approvals, and enhanced transparency—strengthening its position as one of India’s emerging investment-friendly destinations.
Officials said the recognition reflects the government’s consistent efforts to promote ease of doing business, attract new investments, and support entrepreneurship, particularly in sectors such as tourism, agro-processing, and green industries.
The reforms undertaken by the state include the integration of digital governance tools, single-window clearance mechanisms, and the simplification of registration and licensing procedures. These measures have collectively improved Meghalaya’s business climate and reduced bureaucratic hurdles for entrepreneurs and investors.
The Udyog Samagam 2025 brought together industry leaders, policymakers, and state ministers from across India to celebrate achievements in industrial and economic reforms.
