Shillong, Nov 24: Panic broke out in Police Bazaar on Monday after a black bag was found abandoned at the entrance of the SBI Main Branch.
Police immediately cordoned off the area, halting both pedestrian and vehicle movement.
Latest, the Bomb Squad arrived on site and opened the bag using protective gear.
However, the on inspection by the bomb squad, they discovered only clothes and a few personal items, including a necklace inside the abandoned bag. No explosive device was found.
The bag has been handed over to Sadar Police Station for investigation to identify the owner.
