Deputy Chief Minister and Chairman of the Regional Committee for West Jaintia Hills, Sniawbhalang Dhar, has stated that the report on the villages along the disputed stretch, including those under Block I and Khanduli-Psiar, is nearing completion.
The Hynniewtrep Border Dispute Redressal Forum (HBDRF) has urged the state government to recognize and include the 36 villages of Elaka Labang Nongphyllut under Block I in the state's official records and electoral systems.

Rymbai said the Assam police had recently arrested two cadres of the UPFKL in West Karbi Anglong District and there is strong possibility that this new Karbi militant outfit will again extort from the Pnar community in Block-I and terrorize them in one form or the others so that the Pnar community will not dare to voice their demand for return to Meghalaya like the previous Karbi militant outfits.
