Acclaimed filmmaker from Garo Hills, Dominic Megam Sangma has once again brought pride to Meghalaya and the Northeast by winning his second National Film Award.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma has congratulated acclaimed filmmaker Dominic Megam Sangma after his Garo-language film Rimdogittanga (Rapture) won Best Feature Film in Garo at the 71st National Film Awards.
In Garo, the award went to Rimgodittanga (Rapture), directed by Dominic Megam Sangma and produced by Anna Films. Rapture, presented in the Garo language, weaves a compelling narrative around a 10-year-old boy grappling with night blindness.
The critically acclaimed film Rapture by award-winning director Dominic Megam Sangma is set to be screened in Shillong from 7th to 11th November, 2024.
The movie does not allow time for respite, not even for a piece of popcorn. Right from the word go, spectators panted and gasped as the characters in the movie ran into the house, ran outside the house, “katroro katjojo” spread out in the forest looking for lost fellow villagers.
