In a major step toward simplifying highway travel, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced the launch of a FASTag-based Annual Pass for non-commercial private vehicles. The pass, priced at Rs 3,000, will be available from August 15, 2025.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) invited expressions of interest from global innovators to develop a GNSS-based electronic toll collection system, as announced by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
