Following the violence, police have managed to bring the situation under control and arrested atleast 19 people, identified through video recordings and eye witness accounts, in connection with instigating the violence.
In a bid to ensure the safety and convenience of the local villagers, the Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GSMC), Babadam Unit, has approached the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills for immediate assistance for the construction of a new Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) bridge at Chibragre.
