The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) has successfully performed the first Hyperthermic Intraperitoneal Chemotherapy (HIPEC) procedure in Meghalaya. The procedure was performed on a 50-year-old woman with advanced cancer of the ovary.
