Manipur: 17 injured in clashes, mass burial of dead bodies of Kuki-Zomi people postponed

At least 17 people, including few security personnel, were injured in clashes at Kangvai and Phougakchao areas in Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts as the clashes took place between the mob and the security forces, who also fired tear gas shells on Thursday, officials said.

To facilitate limited access to internet services for the public, the Manipur High Court on Friday (July 7) directed the Home Department of Manipur government to lift the ban on internet through Internet Lease Lines (ILLs) throughout the state.

The notification has been issued by Manipur Home Department Commissioner T. Ranjit Singh. The notification stated that to thwart the design and activities of anti-national and anti-social elements and to maintain peace and communal harmony and to prevent any loss of life or danger to public/private property, it has become necessary to take adequate measures to maintain law and order.
