Around 2,500 Anganwadi workers from across the Garo Hills on Monday staged a massive sit-in-protest at Matchakolgre LP School in Tura demanding immediate withdrawal of the Face Recognition System (FRS) for accessing take-home rations and other government benefits.

The Public Health Engineering Department, West Garo Hills, Meghalaya organized a 10km Marathon Run with the theme "Water For Peace",at the Matchakolgre LP School Playground, New Tura to spread awareness on water conservation. The run was a part of the World Water Day celebration 2024.
