The State government has come up with draft guidelines to allow collaboration between the social welfare department and education department for the successful implementation of the Meghalaya Early Childhood Development Mission (MECDM) in the state.
The opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) on Monday sought the intervention of the Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh into the non-payment of salary to the officers and staff working under the Child Protection Services in the state for the past four months.

Speaking to media persons, Lyngdoh said that over 60,000 children in the various anganwadi centres have been covered under the mission. The aim of the mission is to develop a curriculum so that the anganwadi centres also become centres of learning and not just for nutrition alone.

Chairman of the Regional Committee for West Khasi Hills, Paul Lyngdoh, on Friday informed that the regional committees of both Assam and Meghalaya will be meeting in Shillong on August 28.
