Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma visited Amit Singhania’s building at Police Bazar Shillong, which was completely burnt down in a massive fire that broke out on Saturday.
The East Khasi Hills District Administration has requested all Durga Puja Committees (DPCs) in the area to submit a list of migrant labourers and workers who will be involved in decoration and related tasks, along with their voter ID or Aadhar card.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the Deputy Chief Minister in-charge Home (Police) Prestone Tynsong to review the law and order situation in the state capital.
The order was issued from the DC following a request from the Laitumkhrah Dorbar Shnong Pyllun which had urged the district administration to issue an order for closing shops within its jurisdiction by 10 pm.
The order issued by the district magistrate RM Kurbah also prohibits consumption of intoxicants and engaging in any unlawful activities in the vehicle and blasting of music near educational, religious institutions, hospitals besides residential areas after 10 pm.
Days after formalin-laced fish were detected in Meghalaya following which the state Government banned sale of imported fish, the East Khasi Hills district administration said that the origin of the suppliers have been traced.
