The Forest Department on January 17 carried out a coordinated raid-cum-patrolling operation in parts of West Garo Hills, leading to the detection of illegal sand and earth mining and the seizure of timber and heavy machinery.
In a joint operation with the Raksamgre Civil Sub division and police, the Forest Department has taken swift and decisive action against illegal timber operations.
