Shillong, March 24: In a boost to youth employment in Meghalaya, IndiGo conducted a cabin crew recruitment drive in Shillong, selecting five candidates — including three Khasi women — from a pool of aspirants across the Northeast.
The walk-in campus interview was held at the Don Bosco Youth Centre in Laitumkhrah in collaboration with the Emporium Skills Training Institute (ESTI). A total of 56 female candidates participated in the selection process.

Following multiple rounds of screening, the selected candidates were identified as Deilana Shallam, Mahi Sah, Cassandra War, Silveris Mary Lyndem, and Ritika.
Officials said the recruitment drive reflects increasing industry engagement with skill development institutions in the region. This marks the second such cabin crew hiring initiative hosted at the Don Bosco Youth Centre under its partnership with ESTI.
The collaboration is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in September 2025 to provide employment-linked training in aviation, hospitality, and cruise services for youth in Meghalaya and the wider Northeast.

Tuesday’s exercise was the fourth campus recruitment conducted under the MoU, with more drives planned in the coming months involving national and international employers.
The Don Bosco Youth Centre has emerged as a key platform for skill development and job placement in the state, facilitating employment opportunities for young people both within India and overseas. Through its ongoing partnership with ESTI, candidates are being trained in industry-relevant skills and connected to job opportunities across more than 20 countries.
