Tura, Sept 29: Aimed at fostering a love for literature among the youth of Tura, the Department of English of Tura Christian College organized “Stage and Verse”, a dynamic drama and poetry competition, on Saturday.

The event featured notable guests, including Icylian R. Marak, a retired teacher and celebrated Garo author, and C.P. Marak, Executive Chairman of MBOSE.

The inaugural event saw enthusiastic participation from various institutions across Tura, with students showcasing their literary talents through poetry recitations and performances.

Given its positive reception, “Stage and Verse” is set to become an annual event for the Department of English at Tura Christian College.

The success of “Stage and Verse” highlights the vibrant literary culture in the region and aims to inspire a renewed interest in reading among young minds in Garo Hills.
