Union Minister Suresh Gopi suggests spiritual and adventure tourism for Tripura

Agartala, July 10: Union Minister of State for Tourism, Petroleum, and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi on Tuesday said the Centre is keen on developing spiritual and adventure tourism in Tripura.

The minister said Tripura, with its unique terrain, can attract a large number of tourists. “The government will take necessary steps to ensure that the state maximizes its tourism benefits, leading to substantial growth for both the state and its people by drawing in domestic and international tourists,” he said.


He said Tripura should capitalize on these opportunities because it have lots of potential to develop as a tourism hot-spot and we have two hours of discussion and very soon things will be move in positive directions.

He underscored Tripura’s significant potential for tourism development, which could provide substantial employment opportunities for the state’s unemployed youth.

Gopi mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has praised Kerala’s tourism model and the government is recommended replicating similar strategies in other states with comparable elements and tourism potential.

Gopi attended a meeting with officials from the Tourism Department at the State Guest House conference hall.


He also suggested organizing various traditional and cultural events to draw tourists to Tripura, which would, in turn, boost the state’s revenue.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Tripura Tourism Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Tourism Department Secretary U.K. Chakma, and Managing Director of the Tourism Development Nigam, Prashant Badal Negi.
