Shillong, Aug 26: All India Congress Committee (AICC) has effected a minor reorganization of the Meghalaya Congress by appointing Congress MP from Shillong, Vincent H. Pala as the new president of the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC).
In addition, party legislators Ampareen Lyngdoh and Marthon Sangma jave been appointed as working presidents of the party.
Informing this on Wednesday, AICC general secretary KC Venugopal said, “The Congress President has appointed Vincent H Pala, MP as the President of the MPCC with immediate effect.”
James Lyngdoh will also continue as working president.
Venugopal said the party appreciates the contributions of outgoing MPCC president, Dr Celestine Lyngdoh.
He added that Ampareen Lyngdoh is also relieved from her current post as AICC Secretary.
