Jowai, Oct 20: Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Biodiversity & Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden, S.M Sahai, on Saturday called for active participation from local communities for conservation of forest areas and wildlife.

He said Meghalaya has a long tradition of communities protecting forests through the community forests and he hoped that they continue to support the department in conserving the forest and wildlife in future endeavours.
