Shillong, May 27: As militaries worldwide race to counter the growing threat of drone warfare, Zen Technologies on Tuesday showcased what it described as India’s first fully integrated AI-powered anti-drone system during the multinational military exercise Pragati-I 2026 at Umroi in Meghalaya.
The system was demonstrated at the Foreign Training Node in Umroi, where armed forces from India and 15 friendly foreign countries are participating in the joint exercise.
Developed entirely in India, the anti-drone platform has been designed to detect, track and neutralise hostile drones, including low-cost first-person-view (FPV) drones and coordinated swarm attacks that have increasingly shaped modern battlefields in conflicts across different regions.

According to the company, the platform combines multiple layers of defence, including radio-frequency jamming, GNSS spoofing and jamming, integration with remotely operated weapon stations, air defence guns and kamikaze interceptors.
The system is equipped with wideband coverage from 70 MHz to 12 GHz, enabling it to disrupt multiple drone communication frequencies. It also features an indigenous radar capable of detecting low radar-cross-section drones at distances of up to 20 km.
Zen Technologies said the platform can detect drones from over 15 km away while simultaneously tracking more than 100 aerial targets, a capability aimed at countering swarm attacks.
At the centre of the system is an AI-driven data fusion and command centre that integrates inputs from multiple sensors to classify threats and coordinate responses in real time.
The anti-drone platform has been developed in three operational configurations — vehicle-mounted, man-portable and fixed-site deployment.
The vehicle-mounted variant is intended for convoy protection and mobile battlefield operations, while the man-portable version is designed for soldiers operating in patrol and counter-insurgency environments. The fixed configuration is aimed at protecting military bases, critical infrastructure and high-value civilian installations with round-the-clock surveillance capability.

The Hyderabad-based company said the platform reflects India’s push towards indigenous defence manufacturing and self-reliance in strategic technologies.
Founded over three decades ago, Zen Technologies develops defence training and anti-drone systems for armed forces and security agencies. The company says it has filed more than 200 patents and deployed over 10,000 systems globally.
