Museum inaugurated dedicated to his legacy

TURA, March 4: The 10th death anniversary of P. A. Sangma was observed at the P. A. Sangma Stadium in Tura on Wednesday, with floral tributes and remembrance of the veteran leader’s legacy.

The programme, organised by the P. A. Sangma Foundation, was attended by Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker Thomas A. Sangma and former MP Agatha K. Sangma, daughter of the late leader, along with family members, well-wishers and members of the public.

On his 10th death anniversary, the P. A. Sangma Museum was also inaugurated to showcases the life and achievements of the former Lok Sabha Speaker and one of Meghalaya’s tallest political figures. The museum features memorabilia, photographs and documents tracing his journey from humble beginnings to national prominence.

Replicas of his early childhood home and schooling years were also unveiled, offering visitors a glimpse into the formative years of the late leader. Adding to the emotional significance of the occasion was a life-size model of P. A. Sangma, as well as his favourite chair, which was put on display for the public.

The observance served as a tribute to his enduring contributions to the state and the nation, with speakers recalling his leadership, vision and commitment to public service.
