Tura, Nov 7: West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Vibhor Agarwal on Friday informed that the process of clearing 12 months of pending salaries for Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) employees is moving into its final stages.
Speaking to media, Agarwal said, “Currently 1,463 GHADC employees have successfully received their 12-month arrears. The disbursement process, began in late October,”.

While the majority of staff have received their salaries, DC Agarwal confirmed that a few employees are still awaiting statements due to departmental issues, and corrections for advance payments. For the recent October salary, 871 employees have been paid, and the remaining 500 are expected to receive their dues by the coming week.
Agarwal stressed the importance of cooperation from all stakeholders, including the Non-Gazetted Employees’ Association (NGEA), who have been diligently preparing the necessary statements.
He expressed optimism that the current peaceful and collaborative environment within the council will continue, ensuring the remaining payments are finalized swiftly.
