TURA, April 11: As many as 15 people sustained injuries, with two seriously, when the pik up truck they were riding on lost control and fell down into a plantation at Sibbari in South Garo Hills on Tuesday.
The accident occured at approximately 5:30 am when the mahindra bolero pik-up ML08-G-6708 driven by Nal Miah met with an accident as the vehicle overturned at Chambil Badima, Sibbari up road while proceeding to Rongara from Mankachar in Assam.
The vehicle was packed with 15 passengers, but 2 amongst them sustained serious injuries and both of them are shifted to Tura civil hospital from Sibbari PHC.
The driver is absconding from the place of incident and his name is Shri Nal Miah, age 23 yrs, s/o Opial Haque, R/o Nichirakhowa, P.O. Kalapani, PS – Mankachar, South Salmara, Assam. All the passengers are labourers hired for slab construction and were proceeding to their work site when it happened.
