SHILLONG, APR 2: National People’s Party (NPP) state president and deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong on Tuesday said the party is taking all its opponents as a threat.
Speaking to reporters, Tynsong said, “Election is election. We have six candidates from Shillong parliamentary constituency, I don’t say that the threat is VPP or any particular political party, the threat is all the candidates, they are strong. I can’t overrule anything; all candidates are strong.”
He however said that the party leaders and workers are working hard to ensure victory of the party’s candidate.
Stating that many people have joined the party ahead of Lok Sabha polls, Tynsong said, “We have just come back from Jowai also where quite a number of leaders joined us today and not only in Jowai here itself, I think the working president has already welcomed the NPP.”
“Overall, let me tell you as far as Shillong parliamentary and Tura parliamentary constituency, these two seats I am very sure we will be able to come out victorious,” he stated.
