Itanagar, Feb 6: Arunachal Pradesh Police have launched an inter-state operation to trace and apprehend a Punjab-based businessman accused of orchestrating a loan fraud amounting to ₹1.5 crore.
The Roing Police Station has sought the assistance of Shamdoo Police in Patiala, Punjab, to secure the presence of the accused and facilitate further investigation.
The case stems from a formal complaint lodged by Roing resident Pailo Mihu. Police said the accused, identified as Arun Kumar of Punjab, allegedly collected large sums of money under the banner of Bestway Health and Future Pvt. Ltd., promising business expansion and assured returns.

According to investigators, Kumar reportedly obtained ₹1.25 crore from one lender and an additional ₹25 lakh directly from the complainant, citing business development needs and guaranteeing repayment.
The matter surfaced after the accused allegedly defaulted on the loans and became untraceable. Police further stated that Kumar is suspected of filing a fabricated counter-complaint in an attempt to derail the probe and mislead authorities.
Roing Police are now coordinating closely with Punjab Police to ensure the accused is brought before investigators. A formal notice has been issued directing Kumar to appear at Roing Police Station by February 15.
