Dibrugarh, Aug 20: The Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL), a Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has entered into a five-year Business-to-Business (B2B) agreement with Bhutan’s National Seed Centre (NSC), Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, for the export of fertilizers.
Under the pact, BVFCL will supply Urea, Suphala (NPK), SSP, MOP, and Borax to Bhutan, ensuring reliable access to essential inputs that will support the country’s food security and agricultural productivity goals.

The agreement was formalized on August 18 in Siliguri, in the presence of senior officials from both countries. From Bhutan, attendees included Yonten Gyamtsho, Director, Department of Agriculture; Deepak Rai, Program Director, NSC; and Sonam, Senior Store Manager, NSC. Representing BVFCL were Satyajit Mishra, General Manager (Marketing); Chandragupta Kakati and Sunil Kumar Tripathi, Senior Managers; Romi Chakravorty, Deputy Manager; and Devendra Singh Rajawat, Assistant Manager.

“This agreement is a reflection of BVFCL’s commitment to regional cooperation and agricultural development. We are honoured to partner with Bhutan in ensuring farmers get timely access to quality fertilizers, which will further strengthen agricultural productivity in the region,” said Satyajit Mishra, General Manager (Marketing), BVFCL.
The collaboration marks a milestone in India-Bhutan ties in agriculture and allied sectors, boosting cross-border cooperation in fertilizer supply and reinforcing the shared goal of regional food security.
