Guwahati, Feb 12: Chirang police on Friday recovered on a huge cache of arms and ammunition inside Manas National Park in the North-Western side of Amlaiguri village in Chirang district of Assam.
In continuation of operation against illegal weapons (abuse and stockpiling), a rigorous search operation has been conducted by Chirang Police led by Additional SP (Hq), Chirang assisted by SDPO Bijni, CI Panbari, OC Panbari police station and CRPF personnel of 156 BN C Coy on Friday and recovered the illegal arms and ammunition.
Police have recovered two factory-made AK Series Rifle, two AK series rifle magazines, one M20 pistol, one M20 Pistol magazine, 55 rounds of AK series live ammunition and two rounds of 9mm live ammunition.
