Boko, Nov 17: Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Gaurav Gogoi held an interaction with community leaders and party workers from Guwahati city, Kamrup, and Goalpara districts at Bongaon in Boko on Monday.
The meeting witnessed the participation of several members from the Rabha community. Notably, former president of the All Rabha Students’ Union (ARSU), Ramen Singh Rabha, formally joined the Indian National Congress.
Addressing the gathering, Gogoi alleged that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been subjecting the tribal communities of Assam to injustice and oppression.
He accused the government of attempting to strip tribal people of their rights and treating tribal leaders as mere puppets.
Gogoi further claimed that the Chief Minister’s primary objective is to facilitate the transfer of tribal land to outsiders.

Cultural Tribute to Zubeen Garg
On November 18, a special programme titled Kanchenjunga will be organised at the Karmashree Hiteswar Saikia Higher Secondary School in Panjabari, Guwahati, to mark the birth anniversary of late singer Zubeen Garg.
The event will feature performances by noted artistes including Joi Baruah and Maitrayee Patar and others.
The Congress president also appealed to party workers across all booth levels to plant Nahor saplings in honour of Garg’s birthday.
In addition, members of the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) will invite students from various colleges in Guwahati to participate in musical tributes showcasing Garg’s songs.
Criticism of Badaruddin Ajmal
Gogoi described the AIUDF is the “108 Service” of Himanta Biswa Sarma.
APCC President Gaurav Gogoi also reacting on the comments made by Raijor Dal leader Akhil Gogoi after meetings with various political parties on November 12 and later Akhil Gogoi changes his comments on 14 November.
