According to reports, the website was defaced by unidentified miscreants. The homepage allegedly displayed the message: “HBS 2.0 loading. Better luck next time, Paijaan.”
The incident comes at a time when political parties have intensified their digital campaigns in the run-up to the Assembly polls.
Political analysts say social media and digital platforms now play a decisive role in shaping public perception. “Today, social media presence significantly influences electoral campaigns. Parties rely heavily on digital outreach, but incidents of hacking and cyberattacks are not uncommon,” an analyst said.
He added that in the current political landscape, digital engagement can offer a major advantage to candidates and parties with a strong online presence.
