Assam: Police crackdown on drugs in Boko: two arrested, heroin Seized

Boko, Nov 27: In a major operation against drug trafficking, Boko police had carried out a raid in the heart of Boko town and arrested two individuals after a dramatic chase on Thursday.

The arrested persons were identified as Elibor and Sayed Ali, both residents of Rangeswari near Nagarbera.

During the operation, police had seized 58 grams of heroin, valued at approximately ₹3 lakh in the illegal market. The contraband was reportedly packed in five soap cases for distribution.

The raid was conducted under the leadership of Munna Pachani, Officer-in-Charge of Boko Police Station. Following the arrests, police had initiated further investigation into the case to trace the wider network involved in the supply chain.

This successful operation had once again highlighted the growing menace of narcotics in the region and the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb the illegal trade.
