Under Operation Praghat, the STF arrested several jihadis who were planning subversive activities in Assam. The operation led to the apprehension of multiple fundamentalist elements operating across the state, including key members of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).

The crackdown, codenamed Operation Praghat, was led by Assam STF Chief Dr. Partha Sarathi Mahanta and carried out with the support of the Kerala and West Bengal Police.

The module was reportedly attempting to establish sleeper cells across the country, particularly in Assam and West Bengal. Following the launch of Operation Praghat, a large-scale crackdown took place in Assam and neighbouring states.
