Awareness programme on traffic rules held in Jowai

Jowai, Nov 10: As part of the ‘Pan India Awareness and Outreach’ and the 75 years of India’s independence or “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” and the Legal Services Week, an awareness programme on Traffic Rules was organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), West Jaiñtia Hills District in collaboration with the District Transport Officer, the Superintendent of Police, West Jaiñtia Hills District on Wednesday. This awareness programme was organised at the premises of the Jowai Police Station.The programme was presided over by D. Lamare, member of the Legal Aid Council, in the presence of R.M. Kharsyntiew, Secretary Cum Judicial Magistrate, District Transport Officer E. Lyngdoh, E. Rynjah – MVI, BR Marak – O.C of Jowai Police Station. The resource persons during the programme were D. Lamare, Umlong Traffic Officer; Runa Kya from the Legal Aid Council and Paila Lyngkot, the President of the All Jaiñtia Tourist & Commercial Vehicle.

The speakers urged upon all the drivers to obey traffic rules and to follow the traffic police to avoid unnecessary traffic jams.
