Bangladeshi national held at Dalu en route to Assam

Tura, March 20: A Bangladeshi national who allegedly entered India illegally was apprehended by Garo Hills police during a routine vehicle check near Dalu on Thursday.

The individual was intercepted at the Karonggre tri-junction, a key road linking the border town to Tura, while travelling in a bus headed for Guwahati.

Police identified the accused as Abdul Razak (23), son of Md. Ayub Miah, a resident of Moradpur under Baniasong police station in Habiganj district of Sylhet, Bangladesh. He was travelling as a passenger in a bus bearing registration number ML05N-9732 when he was detained.

During verification, the suspect failed to produce any valid passport or visa. He was subsequently arrested, and a case has been registered against him under the Foreigners Act at Dalu Police Station, police said.
