Manhunt launched after murder in Hallidayganj

Tura, March 20: West Garo Hills police have launched a manhunt after a 45-year-old man was found murdered in Hallidayganj on Thursday.

The deceased, identified as Abdul Akher Shah of Khopati Part-III under Sukchar police station in South Salmara-Mankachar district of Assam, was found dead at his residence in Khasaripara with multiple injuries, including deep cuts on the neck.

Police suspect the involvement of a person from the same village and have intensified efforts to track down the accused.

Investigation is currently underway, officials said.
