Boko, Oct 16: A horrific incident has sent shockwaves through the quiet locality of Chaudhuripam in Kalatali. Khairun Nessa, a third-semester Assamese student of Sonatoli Regional College, was brutally murdered at her home on Wednesday.
According to police, Nurul Islam, a resident of Balagaon Char, entered Khairun’s house when her family members were away and slit her throat before fleeing the scene.

Locals said the accused, who is already married, had been pressuring Khairun to marry him. When she repeatedly refused, he allegedly killed her in anger. Residents believe the murder was premeditated and linked to her rejection of his proposal.
Police from the Jorshimuli Outpost rushed to the spot after receiving information and have begun an investigation. Officer-in-Charge Pankaj Das said that Nurul Islam has absconded and efforts are on to arrest him soon.
The gruesome killing has left the community in deep shock, demanding swift justice for the young student whose life was tragically cut short.
