Williamnagar, May 18: A dead tree near Sacred Heart School Junior Section in Williamnagar has become a major safety concern, with parents and local residents fearing that it could collapse and trigger a serious accident at any moment.
The tree stands beside the busy PWD road used daily by hundreds of schoolchildren, parents, pedestrians and vehicles. Locals say the tree has remained in a dangerous condition for a long time, but no action has been taken to remove it.

According to sources, the tree is located within the premises of the PWD Executive Engineer’s quarter, raising questions over which department is responsible for clearing the hazard.
Sacred Heart School Principal Fr. John Thomas told HubNews that the school has already written to the concerned authorities requesting immediate action. However, he expressed concern that no response has been received so far despite the obvious risk.

The issue has sparked anxiety among parents, many of whom are demanding urgent intervention before an unfortunate incident occurs. Residents have urged the authorities concerned to cut down the tree without delay to ensure the safety of students and the public.
