Tura, Feb 19: An FIR has been lodged against a teacher of a well-known school in Tura by a student’s parent for allegedly abusing and physically assaulting his son.
According to the complaint filed by the parents, the teacher not only assaulted the child but had also been subjecting him to abuse over a period of time.
The parent alleged that the teacher assaulted the student for “not knowing the formula to an equation”.
The FIR states that “the accused teacher has continuously subjected his students, including my older children, when they were still in school, to severe mental harassment and psychological torture and also through physical force for so many years” .
It further alleges that the teacher publicly humiliated students in front of their classmates, repeatedly insulted them over their intelligence and personal background, threatened them with failure, and intentionally discriminated and targeted certain students. The complaint claims such behaviour created fear, intimidation and emotional distress among the students.
Police have registered the case and begun an investigation. Officials said statements will be recorded and evidence examined as part of the inquiry.
No detailed statement has been issued by the concerned school so far as the matter is under investigation by the police.
