SHILLONG, FEB 19: Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the KHADC, Winston Tony Lyngdoh on Wednesday informed the House that the district council has no plans to organize the Monolith Festival this year, citing lack of funds.
Replying to a query raised by MDC of Nongpoh Constituency, Rona Khymdeit, during the budget session, Lyngdoh said, “The Council will examine whether or not to organize such a festival in the coming years.”
When asked about alternative plans, Lyngdoh said, “We have no plan to replace the Monolith Festival with other small festivals to showcase our culture and heritage.”
