Tura, April 15: NPP candidates Anseng A. Sangma, Grahambel A. Sagnma and Rakesh A. Sangma won the three prestigious constituencies of Asanang, Jengjal and Babelapara in West Garo Hills respectively.
The trio, brother–in–law of Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Power Minister James K. Sangma secured a comfortable margin to defeat their rival candidates.
In Babelapara constituency, NPP’s Rakesh A. Sangma secured 6376 votes and won with a margin of 939 votes defeating sitting MLA and NCP candidate Saleng A. Sangma, who secured 5437 votes.
While Linekar K. Sangma, cousin of Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma and Power Minister James K. Sangma won the Nogorpara constituency.
NPP’s Linekar K. Sangma, secured 7625 votes and won with a margin of 1929 votes defeating Congress candidate Kansan Sangma, who secured 5696 votes.
In Asanang constituency, NPP candidate Anseng A Sangma, secured 6335 votes and won with a margin of 589 votes defeating Adamkid Sangma of Congress, who secured 5746 votes.
In Jengjal constituency, NPP candidate Grahambell A Marak secured 6531 votes and won with a margin of 84 votes defeating Levastone T Sangma of Congress, who secured 6447 votes.
