Imphal, Sep 21: Tensions has once again erupted in many parts of the valley region of Manipur including state capital Imphal.
This fresh tension erupted following the arrest of five men with sophisticated arms and donning security forces uniform on 16 September, leading to widespread protest demonstrations in valley areas, demanding unconditional release of the 5 detainees.
As part of the demonstration, a 48 hrs lockdown was enforced in the valley areas since last Monday mid night by locals.

Stepping up the tempo, before the lockdown concluded at Thursday mid night, women demonstrators marched to police stations across 5 valley districts areas demanding the unconditional release of the 5 detainees if not demanded they also be arrested as they are also village defenders.
At several places, angry protestors confronted the police and other security agencies with police resorting to lathi charge and tear gas to disperse the crowds who have thronged the police stations. Many are reported to be injured in the incident.
There were clashes between mob and cops outside Sinjamei police station, police has to first tear gas shells, three people are injured and admitted in hospital.
Considering, the developing volatile situation, the state administration have revoked curfew relaxation orders and re clamped 144 CRPC.
