Tura, July 30: A young Saurav Modak of Don Bosco College, Tura, was the only student from Garo Hills region to find a berth in the state’s top ten list of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination for Science, Commerce and Vocational stream, results for which were announced by MBoSE on Friday.
Barring Saurav Modak, all remaining top positions in the state went to schools from Shillong and Khasi-Jaintia Hills.
Saurav Modak, hailing from the Higher Secondary Section of the Don Bosco College, Tura, bagged the 8th position in the state with a total of 462 marks. He also topped the Physics and Mathematics subject with an individual best of 96 and 99 marks, respectively.
St Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong was the biggest winner securing 7 top spots in the Science stream.
