TURA, July 14: Another three girls, including two children, has been rescued by Garo Hills police from different locations in the last 24 hours marking a successful operation in finding missing people.

Two girls who went missing on 7th of July from Shillong were rescued by West Garo Hills police from Kherapara area on Wednesday and a suspect was detained for questioning.

Later, all three were handed over to a police team from East Khasi Hills.

In another case, another minor girl abducted three months ago from the plains belt region of West Garo Hills has been rescued safe and sound.

The minor girl disappeared from her home in the month of May and after a prolonged investigation police were able to trace her whereabouts from Gomaijora village of Phulbari on Tuesday. Two men involved in her kidnapping were arrested while the prime accused in her abduction identified as Somsul Hoque remains absconding with police continuing to trace him out.
