Shillong, Apr 29: Health Minister Wailadmiki Shylla on Wednesday said the government has empanelled a team to study concerns raised by 108 emergency services workers demanding a government takeover, and a decision will be taken after NHM Mission Director returns from election duty after May 5.

Shylla told reporters that a delegation of the 108 emergency services workers had met him on the issue.

According to him, both sides have constraints.

“Because see now the 108 staff have their own sets of concerns and you also know the government also have their own limitation,” he said.

He added that a team has been tasked to examine the issue.

“That is why we have empanelled one team to do some kind of a study on how we can accomodate them, how we can look after their concerns and also the government won’t have to give much,” the minister said.

“I already shared all these things with them and we are awaiting for that report,” he added.

Shylla said the matter will be expedited once the National Health Mission (NHM) MD returns.

“Nevertheless, I have given my word as right now MD of NHM is on election duty in South India and he will be coming back after May 5. Once he comes back, we will sit and try to speed up the matter,” he said.
